The advancement of urbanization continuously brings incremental space for the water industry.

1) The urban population in China reached 771 million in 2015, with the growth rate of urban population maintaining around 3% in recent years; the area of urban built-up areas reached 52,100 square kilometers in 2015, with the area growth rate maintaining at 4-5% in recent years.
2) The total urban water supply reached 56.1 billion cubic meters in 2015, with a year-on-year growth rate of 2.5%; the water supply in county towns reached 10.69 billion cubic meters, with a decline in growth rate to only 0.56%.
3) The length of urban water supply pipelines reached 710,000 kilometers in 2015, with a year-on-year growth rate of 4.87%; the length of water supply pipelines in county towns was 215,000 kilometers, with a year-on-year growth rate of 5.39%; through the construction of pipelines, the water usage coverage rate continued to improve, with the water usage coverage rates in cities and county towns in 2015 being 98.1% and 90.0%, respectively.
4) The urban sewage treatment capacity reached 14 million cubic meters per day in 2015, with a year-on-year growth of 7.19%; county towns reached 2.999 million cubic meters per day, with a year-on-year growth of 4.06%. The sewage treatment rates in cities and county towns reached 91.9% and 85.2%, respectively, an increase of 9.6 and 25.1 percentage points compared to 2010.
