Causes: High load leads to incomplete decomposition of organic matter affecting sludge sedimentation performance, resulting in poorer settling effects; Low load causes sludge to lack nutrients, increasing the number of low-nutrient bacteria and deteriorating flocculation performance; Long sludge age results in high sludge concentration in the system and loose sludge structure that is difficult to settle; High water temperature increases small molecular organic matter, causing excessive adsorption of organic matter by microbial flocs, leading to sludge disintegration. Solutions: Reduce load to decrease the total COD of influent, increase dissolved oxygen to gradually restore sludge performance; Increase influent volume to maintain it within an appropriate range, keeping a high dissolved oxygen state for a period to suppress the further increase of low-nutrient bacteria; Increase the amount of excess sludge discharge to control the system's sludge concentration within a reasonable range; Lower the water temperature in the aeration tank and control the dissolved oxygen level, after a period of time, the sludge can return to normal.
